Chandrayaan 3 Mission Successful

Today is a historic day in Indian history as ISRO ( Indian Space Research Centre) created history as Chandrayaan 3 successfully landed on the Moon on 23rd August 2023., 6.4 PM and became the 4th nation to successfully land on the Moon after the USSR, the U.S., and China but 1st to land in the south pole of the Moon.

Chandrayaan 3 has launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, at 2.35 PM IST on Friday, 14nth July 2023.

Chandrayaan 3 mission took 40 days to land successfully on Moon on 23rd August. This is the biggest achievement great comeback by ISRO after Chandrayaan 2 failed to land successfully in the Moon’s surface due to a hard landing on 7th September 2019.

Chandrayaan 3 mission is a huge success Russia’s first moon mission in 47 years failed on 21st August 2023 when its Luna-25 spacecraft spun out of control and crashed into the moon whose budget is approx 2.5 times of Indian Mission Moon ” Chandrayaan 3. The budget of Chandrayaan 3 is only Rs 610 cr while The Budget of Russia ” Luna” is 1600 cr.

THE PURPOSE OF CHANDRAYAAN 3 (According to NDTV):-

  • Chandrayaan-3 is carrying six payloads to study the lunar soil and capture photographs of Earth from the lunar orbit.
  • Chandrayaan-3 will conduct a series of groundbreaking experiments using its payloads RAMBHA and ILSA. These experiments will study the moon’s atmosphere and dig into the surface to better understand its mineral composition.
  • The lander Vikram will photograph the rover Pragyaan which will deploy its instruments to study seismic activity on the moon. Pragyaan will use its laser beams to melt a piece of the lunar surface, called regolith, and analsze the gases emitted in the process.
  • Chandrayaan-3 will not only access a wealth of knowledge about the lunar surface but also its potential for human habitation in the future.

PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Saha congratulated Team ISRO for Chandrayaan 3 success and NASA Administrator Bill Nelson also congratulated ISRO for this historic achievement as

“Congratulations @isro on your successful  Chandrayaan-3 lunar South Pole landing! And congratulations to #India on being the 4th country to successfully soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon. We’re glad to be your partner on this mission!”

After Chandrayaan’s success ISRO chief S Somnath said to media that a location near the equator Soth Pole is more likely to be suitable for human settlement.

ISRO also planning to launch Mission Sun with Aditya L1 and Mission Venus soon.

Now every Indian can proudly say ” East or West, Earth or Moon India is the best. Again congratulations Team ISRO for this successful Historic Mission, Keep it up. Jai Hind, Bharat mata ki Jai.
